Chief Information Officer

John Donnarumma

John Donnarumma is the global Chief Information Officer of GroupM, a position he has held since late 2005. In this capacity, John is responsible for developing and implementing information technology initiatives. He also provides vision and leadership for all aspects of information technology and systems within GroupM which includes infrastructure, applications and development. Whether licensing or building systems, a primary goal of these areas is to deliver on new ways for employees to improve operational efficiency and user productivity. With the impending change on how media will be delivered and consumed, John is also very involved with senior management at GroupM to ensure that they are well positioned to handle this future shift in the media landscape.

 

John has been with the company for 17 years holding a variety of senior IT leadership roles at GroupM or GroupM companies. His began his career in the media research group at Young & Rubicam in 1993 and when Y&R media became Mediaedge, John helped consolidate technology and applications for them around the world. In 2000, John became the CIO for Mediaedge:CIA, which was created following a merger with Chris Ingram Associates. John was subsequently appointed CIO for GroupM North America in 2002 and held that position until assuming the global CIO role three years later.

 

John earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Fordham University with a concentration on marketing and computer science. He remains close with his Alma Matter and is a frequent guest teacher for the both the undergraduate and graduate school of business. John also is a member of several industry organizations including the AAAAs, for which he is the Chair of their Technology Committee.

 

He lives in Lynbrook, New York with his wife Madeline and their 2 sons, John and Peter. He enjoys many activities including golf and playing a variety of sports with his two boys.
