Kelly Clark is a seasoned media services executive who has managed agency operations from Asia to Europe to New York, where he now serves as the first worldwide CEO of Maxus, one of GroupM's five international networks.
At Maxus, Kelly's goal is to deliver a new, global vision for the agency, which currently operates in 45 countries. His immediate plans call for opening new Maxus offices progressively in key markets throughout the upcoming year.
He is particularly well suited to the task because he is a true global executive with strong operating and client management experience in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America. Throughout his career Kelly has worked closely with leading multinational clients including Unilever, PepsiCo, Nike, IBM, Nestlé, Kellogg, Ford Motor, and HSBC, among many others. His wide-ranging and comprehensive international experience, combined with his passion for working hands-on with clients, sets him apart and underscores his unique qualifications for delivering the new Maxus vision around the world. Kelly took charge of Maxus in November 2008 after serving for three years as CEO of GroupM's operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. There he was responsible for overseeing more than $26 billion in client billings and 6,000 employees in addition to developing and implementing overall group strategy for media trading and content development, new business, senior staff development, acquisitions and joint ventures.
He assumed that role in October 2005 after serving for three years as CEO of Mindshare UK, another GroupM agency. During this time, Mindshare UK nearly doubled in size, rising from sixth-place to become the second largest agency and was twice voted Agency of the Year by Campaign magazine. Kelly arrived in the UK from Hong Kong where, beginning in 1999, he was CEO of Mindshare Asia Pacific, responsible for the establishment and management of Mindshare's network across Asia Pacific. To this day the agency remains the region's No. 1 agency with offices in over 20 countries. He worked extensively in China and India during this time. He first moved to Asia in 1996 to establish JWT's TV programming and syndication division for China.
Kelly started his career with JWT New York where he held a number of media management positions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is married with three children.
