NEW YORK—Veteran mobile marketing executive Michael Nevins today was named Director of Mobile for GroupM North America, a new position.
Nevins, who has extensive experience working with major brands and content publishers on emerging media platforms, most recently worked as VP of sales at Crisp Wireless, a provider of mobile applications and content management platforms to media companies, online publishers, agencies, and brands.
His appointment was announced by GroupM Interaction NA Chief Operating Officer John Montgomery and GroupM North America CEO Marc Goldstein.
“Mobile is one of the fastest-growing advertising mediums in the country, and Michael is uniquely qualified to help GroupM and our clients realize its potential,” said Montgomery. “He has a strong working knowledge and deep relationships in the mobile ecosystem and a solid track record of successful executions for clients.”
In his new role Nevins will assist GroupM operating companies develop client strategy and internal process while helping to strengthen GroupM Interaction’s overall mobile presence in the digital industry. He also will be responsible for maintaining relationships with a wide range of mobile vendors and help keep GroupM agencies a step ahead in the fast-changing mobile marketplace.

With more than 18 years’ experience in technology, media and entertainment, Nevins has led numerous successful business-to-business as well as consumer marketing initiatives. His focus has been on helping brands, advertisers, content creators and publishers engage audiences through the creative application of emerging media platforms. Prior to Crisp Wireless, Nevins served as director of industry relations at Muze Inc., where he managed relationships with senior executives at music labels, home video distributors, and book publishers. He also established Muze’s music preview technology operation and oversaw its wide deployment at retail compact disc and book chains.
Nevins’s appointment is effective immediately. He will be based in New York and will report to Montgomery and Stefan Meyer-Spickenagel, GroupM’s Global Director of Mobile, based in Dusseldorf, Germany.
