At a Fake News briefing in London’s Southbank on 24 October organized by GroupM UK, Commercial Director Jon Slade at the Financial Times made headlines when he disclosed that the FT had stopped all advertising on Facebook both in the US and UK. The effect on the FT’s business, he continued, was “negligible”.

Alongside Slade, Dr Sarah Glozer from the University of Bath School of Management, Magnus Brooke, Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at ITV and Bethan Crockett,  Senior Director of Brand Safety and Digital Risk at GroupM EMEA, shared their views of Fake News and its impact on the advertising industry and wider reverberations across media and society-at-large.
