GroupM’s 2016 Ad Categories report is an annual study that attempts to standardize and 'dollarize' ad categories to make possible international comparison and analysis. In it, we give subtotals for the 'New' and 'Old' worlds. In 2016 the New World will account for 35% of advertising and 41% of economic output. Both these shares typically rise one point a year. The New World is expected to provide 50% of all advertising growth in 2016. The report monitors changes in specific categories in 19 principal clusters. These include categories such as Personal Care, Food, Beverage, Pharmaceuticals, Household Care, Automotive and Communications, to name a few. For the full report, please download the attached PDF.
