GroupM’s Big New Reorganization

Mediapost reported that GroupM’s “newly minted” global CEO, Christian Juhl has moved swiftly to put his “stamp” on the organization. Since Christian has been named CEO, three new team members have joined GroupM’s global leadership, including Jennifer Remling, Chief People Officer; Andre Shebbeare, Acting Chief Technology Officer; and Kyoko Matsushita, CEO of Essence. He’s also assigned existing global leaders to new roles, including Mark Patterson, COO; Colin Barlow, Global President, GroupM Services; and Brian Gleason, Chief Commercial Officer.

As Mediapost reported, the plan includes creating a powerful collective intelligence capability enabled by technology which will be aided by the merger of GroupM’s technology arm, [m]Platform, and Essence’s technology company, 2Sixty. GroupM Services, now a distinct team, will expanded focus on global centers of excellence supporting services consistency in Search, Social, Programmatic and Ad Operations. All of these changes are part of GroupM’s focus on supporting its media agencies and specialists with best-in-class foundational capabilities and services.
