London & Paris, January 23, 2018 – GroupM, the media investment group of WPP, today announced the appointment of Mathieu Morgensztern as CEO of its business in France. In this role, Morgensztern will set GroupM strategy in France and oversee all operational and financial performance for GroupM’s agencies and specialists in France, including Mindshare, MediaCom, MEC, Maxus, KR Media and Keyade.
As announced internally by Sir Martin Sorrell to WPP’s French teams, Morgensztern will also assume the role of WPP Country Manager for France. In this role, he’ll focus on WPP’s core strategic priority, horizontality, ensuring WPP companies work together effectively and present a seamless, integrated and simple offer to clients in France. He’ll also support efforts to attract and retain the best and most diverse talent, generate cross-group business opportunities and identify potential acquisitions and investments.
Morgensztern is widely recognised as one of Europe’s brightest talents in digital marketing. He was most recently Managing Director, Europe of Accenture, leading the Marketing, Digital and Media consulting practice, dedicated to building the growth strategy of Fortune 500 European companies. Before joining Accenture, Morgensztern spent five years as CEO of Digitas for France and then for Europe. In 1996, Morgensztern founded Data Planet, a marketing agency specialising in data, analytics and digital marketing, which was sold to the Havas Group in 2000. Morgensztern then became CEO of Euro RSCG 4D and Isobar. Morgensztern also spent four years as Chairman of the French association of digital agencies (AACC).
Morgensztern will join the organization in the Spring and be Paris based. In his GroupM role, he’ll report to Dominic Grainger, GroupM’s CEO for Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
