London & Amsterdam. MEC, www.mecglobal.com, today announced the launch of its 13th Global Solutions office, in Amsterdam.
Rogier Leliveld has been named Managing Director, reporting to Eric Kramer, CEO of MEC Netherlands and he will join the MEC Netherlands Board.
Global Solutions Netherlands’ first international client will be Netflix, who have based their regional HQ there.
The launch was announced by Alastair Aird, Global COO and EMEA CEO for MEC. He commentated, “One of our 5 global goals is to ensure that MEC is set up to deliver brilliantly for our clients – providing excellent strategic leadership, continuing to develop innovative products and therefore producing award winning work. One of our fastest growing and most innovative clients is Netflix and one of our most innovative and award-winning markets is MEC Netherlands. And like many international clients, Netflix have based their regional HQ in Amsterdam, so it was a no-brainer to launch Global Solutions Netherlands; this is an important development for our business.”
He continued, “Rogier is the perfect candidate to lead this new business, having shown throughout his time at MEC that he has all the skills that an international client leader requires to help us deliver on our global goal. He has also built strong relationships across the MEC network and is widely respected and recognised for all he has achieved. As well as leading Global Solutions Netherlands and Netflix in the region, Rogier will report to me working on a number of initiatives across EMEA.”
About Rogier Leliveld
Rogier has been with MEC for 14 years progressing his career across multiple divisions and countries. Until recently Rogier managed the Johnson & Johnson business across 39 markets in the EMEA region as well being a member of the global WPP team for J&J. He currently sits on the MEC Global Solutions UK Board.
Before that Rogier was responsible for the Visa Europe and Blackrock accounts at MEC from 2009-2012. His remit for Visa covered 19 markets including the management of Visa’s London 2012 Olympics sponsorship in London. And prior to this, Rogier was Strategic Planning Director on Canon Europe for two years, working across 20 markets.
From 2001 to 2007, Rogier was based in his native Netherlands as MEC’s Head of Analytics & Insight and Strategy Director in Amsterdam, where he was particularly involved in branded content strategy and creation.
