GroupM Wins Big at Microsoft Partner Awards

GroupM and Mindshare awarded across three categories for outstanding success and innovation
New York (March 23) — GroupM and Mindshare, WPP’s media investment group and media agency, respectively, have been honored with three 2023 Microsoft Partner awards this week recognizing exemplary use of Microsoft technologies to create impactful, customer-first solutions.
- Agency of the Year, Canada: Mindshare Canada was named Agency of the Year, Canada for demonstrating excellence in partnership with Microsoft Advertising across the board, including leveraging modern search strategies, such as Dynamic Search Ads and Broad Match Keywords, to increase year-over-year conversions and improve Cost Per Actions on key products for its clients as the Canadian economy recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Community Response Award: GroupM received the Community Response award which highlights inspiring solutions and celebrates changemakers who drove purpose and action. GroupM was recognized for its GroupM University Launch Pad initiative, an accelerated, cohort-based learning experience that removes the emphasis on hiring barriers that prevent talented nontraditional hires from entering the industry. Participants gain work experience as an associate on a real client team while receiving hands-on experience learning media foundations, identifying the media track they want to begin their career in, and building their profile through mentorship and networking.
- Audience Excellence Award: Mindshare was awarded the Audience Excellence Award for exhibiting excellence in audience campaigns resulting in expanded site traffic and increased consumer engagement for a CPG client through strategy, optimization, and performance.

These honors follow a successful year for GroupM and Mindshare. For the second year running, GroupM led the industry in new business wins and retention total, according to COMvergence’s Global New Business Barometer FY 2022 report. Mindshare was named MediaPost’s Media Agency of the Year for the third time in four years, and GroupM was named MediaPost’s Holding Company of the Year for the second consecutive year.
Earlier this month, GroupM and Mindshare were recognized on WARC’s Media 100 2023 list, with Mindshare Worldwide being featured in the top 20 networks, and GroupM owning eight spots of the global top 10 agencies list. Mindshare offices also took three of the top 10 spots in WARC’s Effective 100.
